Notes About Autocross Results

The results posted for the latest AX#6 and the season standing can be somewhat confusing. When you bring up the Autocross page, you should see a series of 5 tabs at the bottom of the web page:

(1) Base, which is selected as the default,

(2) By Class Points,

(3) Season Points,

(4) Thank You (a special thanks from Cathy Carlson and Rob Ways, the people who made the LPR AX series such a great success, please read this short note), and finally

(5) By Time - TTOD.

You should be able to click on any of these "tabs" and the page will change to show the corresponding data. For example, the season standings are on the third tab. Click on the third tab and you should see the season standings. As a rule, this is true of all LPR Autocross result postings (though they may not all have 5 tabs, but there will usually be more than one tab) since they are derived from an Excel spreadsheet. I apologize if this is confusing, for it is hard to notice unless you know to look for it.

If you have problems seeing these tabs and accessing the various parts of the results, please reply back to me and let me know and I will try to fix the problem. I proof website pages using Internet Explorer so it may not display correctly using Netspace or other browsers such as AOL, etc. If you are using one of these other browsers and you have any problems using the LPR site, Autocross or otherwise, please let me know and I will do my best to fix the problem.

Autocross Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q: Who can participate?
A: The events are open to all PCA members from all regions.

Q: Do I need to attend a school first?
A: No, Autocross is the perfect first-time event.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: $35.00 per driver

Q: What Should I Bring?
A: Wear comfortable layered clothes and shoes suitable for driving/walking/running. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are advisable it's cold in the morning but can get sunny and warm toward mid-day. If you have an Auto(SA) or Motorcycle(MX) helmet with a Snell 1995 or later sticker, bring it. If you don't have a helmet, we have a limited number of loaners. (You will need a Driver's License as a deposit) Lunch can be ordered at registration. Choice of sandwich, potato salad and cookie for $8.00

Q: What Do I Need To Get Ready?
A: Your Porsche should be in good mechanical condition. No cord showing on tires, brakes in good condition, no loose wheel bearings. No parts about ready to fall off. Fill with oil and inflate your tires according to your owner's manual. Try to show up with 3/8 tank gas-more is okay, but it's extra weight. Classify your car at http://comp.pca-ggr.org/rulcomm_cs/web/index.php. Answer the questions and you will automatically be given your AX classification.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: Start at registration and let them know you are new. They will get you going and point you in the right direction.

Q: What do we do in case of rain?
A: We get wet! Die-Hard auto crossers will run even if there is a light rain. Only when there is standing water, and the track has been deemed unsafe do we clear the track and wait for the puddles to dry up.

Q: Do we drive with windows up or down?
A: LPR rules require that ALL cars run with windows down.

Q: Can I drive my “other car” an AX event?
A: LPR encourages all of our members to enjoy the Porsche experience however as a current PCA member you may drive another car at the AX. All rules (safety, tech, etc. will still apply)

Q: Can I let my friends drive with me?
A: For insurance purposes, if there are two passengers in a vehicle, one of them MUST be an instructor, as long as this rule is satisfied then the answer is yes.
